Love What You Do
Just Do It
Written by MaryEvelyn
Sometimes I stop and think about all of the old sayings that I remember while growing up. Many of them had the same meaning but with different wording. And others contradicted the other, so as a child the sayings could be a bit confusing .
We have all heard the saying, “if not now, then when.” I realize that I have been giving a bit of thought to that saying most of my adult life. Presently, the older I get, the more energy I put into the now. When I was younger and heard, “just do it!” or, wait weighs the wagon down.” I would be stymied. Today, I am more inclined to believe that waiting weighs the wagon down.
We live in a world of busy-ness but I wonder if we are busy doing what we love or what we feel must be done. Many times our, “do it now,” thoughts become weaken by our, must do thoughts. The thoughts we have of our desires, and dreams, which brings a smile and relaxation over our whole being are many times over powered by fear. Fear is like the saying, “ turn your frown upside down.” For me , the only way that I turn my frown upside down is by changing the way I am observing my situation. When I observe my fears to have no power over me, my, “just do it,” feels so attainable. I realize now that, it feels attainable because it always has been. My thought process was the one and only thing stopping my, “I’m doing this.”
I am now old enough to have experienced the fears, analyze the fears, attack the fears, submit to the fears, and most importantly overcome the fears. After all is said and done, a fear is only a thought that you allowed to live in your head much longer than it should have. We all do it, we have all done it, we have all been there. During all of this time that we are allowing fear to play havoc with our beautiful desires, do we ever stop to think about what we have been gifted with?
We have been gifted from birth with the power to choose our lives. This choosing includes excepting the fear teachings or I can do it my way teachings, thus, is within you. As a child we listen to it all. We are listening even when the adults think we aren’t. The good news, even as children we can choose what to believe and we can hold better thoughts than we heard.
As adults, we have tried many ways to get by in this world. As the saying goes, “the good, the bad, the ugly.” That’s who we are, we try it all, because through it all—We didn’t remember from whence we came. We came from spirit, spirit is love, we are love, therefore, we, from within have the power that love brings—healing, freedom, wisdom, abundance, confidence, peace, awareness, fearlessness, possibility, desires. As the saying goes,”no time like the present,” live in your imagination, you’ve been given the gift of imagination for a reason.
As you are remembering who you are, which is love, your imaginable thoughts will only be of your desires from love. As you imagine your desires from love daily, you start to feel them, as you feel them, you start seeing them manifest themselves. And then you realize, Oh my goodness, I could have already had this, if I had only known.
Fortunately, it’s never too late, it is always right on time and—all of your experiences, the good, bad , ugly were what you needed to get you to where you are now. Knowing who you are and the power within you is all that you need to live a fulfilled life. You are the source of your outcomes, it’s a gift, cherish it, be grateful, it is love, it is spirit.
And—this is how we are all created equal.
This week while looking for a dessert for game night I came across this Oats and Granola pie recipe. It looked so easy to make that I had to ,”just do it.” It was a hit with the family and game night could not have been better. I have been baking a Sunday dessert for several months now and not one time has my family been unsupportive. They have eaten everything I bake with a smile and come back for more. Between you and me, I have been known to mess up the simplest of desserts over the years. I had always been about, a pinch of this or that. Baking isn’t quite like that so I had to reign myself in and follow at least the basics of the recipe. The bottom line is to enjoy, and for me, a teaspoon more of vanilla and a bit of cinnamon never hurts and—A Little Help is always a good thing.
Oats and Honey Granola pie
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter (melted)
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup corn syrup
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs (lightly beaten)
4 Nature Valley (2 packs) Oats and Honey crunchy granola bars (crushed in wrappings)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup chocolate chips
Preheat oven 375 degrees F
Place pie crust in 9 inch glass pie pan (set aside)
In mixing bowl add melted butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, mix until blended.
Beat in salt, vanilla and lightly beaten eggs.
Stir in crushed granola bars, walnuts, oats, chocolate chips into the brown sugar mixture.
Pour mixture into crust lined pie pan.
Bake 40-50 minutes or until filling is set.
Last 15-20 minutes of baking I covered the crust edge with a pie shield to prevent crust from over browning.
Cool for about 30 minutes, serve at room temperature.
Enjoy!
